The Windows 10 upgrade reset peoples system options back to defaults and wiped out some of our settings including our homegroup passwords. This is a shame there should be a fix to delete the existing home group or at least give us access to the dim menu. Change the password of the Workgroup.
That should enable us after seeing the existing one to change it on all computer. The problem I think is this Now under Win 10, it has quite conveniently changed my user name to my microsoft account email address. My next step was to try and create a new user 'Ben', which it basically said - no I am thinking that there is now a ghost user 'Ben' that can not be accessed for this purpose. Bottom line is MS has stuffed up by not migrating the usernames correctly in the homegroup settings.
Either they provide a patch to migrate the usernames or the ability to delete the homegroups. No doubt MS will spend a lot of energy saying that it is our fault and we are not using the system as intended, which just wastes everybody's time.
